Craftsmanship, Culture and Collaboration

Founded in 1976 and based in Belfast, Maine, we are builders, first and foremost, who seek uniquely challenging projects to which we apply both sound traditional building methods and a well-informed practice of sustainable technology.

We are known throughout the Maine community for our high standards, problem-solving ability and attention to detail in the field. Our corps of field leadership is deeply experienced and dedicated to a strong and steadfast collaboration between owners, design groups and our own team of first-quality craftsmen and subcontractors.

We take great pride in our highly experienced administrative team and its ability to plan, organize and manage the results of each project against established schedules and budgets.

Our workshop in Belfast continues its long history of producing fine woodworking components for our projects, including millwork, casework and fixtures.

Testimonials

Yes, we are in and it is no small wonder that it all works and feels right and comfortable and like a home.

We want to thank you all profoundly for your patience, endurance and hard work, most of all for the beauty and craftsmanship of your work for which we will be thankful on an hourly basis as we live in our new home. Your hands and minds are in each of its details and it feels right. There is no better way to describe its naturalness—for us, that was the goal and the highest compliment.

Bravo to an extraordinary team effort.
Hats off to a brilliant set of minds and hands — inexpressible thanks.

Habitat for Humanity

I have been involved in several Habitat for Humanity projects in Maine, in Alabama’s Black Belt and the Mississippi Delta. I have served on the local board for years where we are focused on building sound housing with a sustainable model. Our current focus includes the development of four - 600 square foot houses in Rockland, Maine on the site of former housing for millworkers.
